The University of Alaska Board of Regents on Wednesday unanimously approved a resolution decrying recent changes to regional NCAA Division II playoff tournaments that would prevent Alaska and Hawaii from hosting full, eight-team tournaments. The 11-member body that governs the 16-campus UA system also unanimously approved a resolution supporting the creation of an Alaska Native Education and Research Council, in cooperation with Alaska’s regional Native corporations.
