Educators inducted into Alaska Women’s Hall of Fame

A handful of educators, including Anchorage Schools District Superintendent Carol Comeau, will be part of the inaugural class inducted into the Alaska Women’s Hall of Fame at 6:30 p.m. tonight (March 6) at the BP Energy Center.

The ceremony will honor 50 women who have made or are making significant contributions to shaping Alaska. The event is free and open to the public. Eight of the 13 living inductees, including Comeau, will attend the ceremony.

Juneau high school students have done it again.

For the third year in a row, high school students from Juneau have won first and second place in the Tsunami Bowl, Alaska’s regional version of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl, a three-day-long, rapid-fire competition about the ocean, complete with jeopardy-style buzzer sessions, written questions and team research projects. The Tsunami Bowl was held February 6-8 in Seward.
